‘Spotify Kids’ App Comes to the U.S. and Canada

Following a test launch in select international markets last fall, the ad-free Spotify Kids app is now available in the U.S., Canada, and France.

During the test, the company said that it’s looking to embrace “the next generation of listeners,” and it’s doing it with a robust curated content lineup featuring audio from DisneyNickelodeon, Kidz Bop, and others. For the U.S. and Canada, more than 8,000 songs are available in the Kids app — a 30% increase from the beta version.

Spotify Kids features audiobooks and stories including Disney Music Group Stories, fairytales, classics, and short stories; bedtime programming including lullabies, calming music and sounds, and bedtime stories; diverse content and playlists including Spanish-language, country, Christian, Motown, and more; pop culture content including music from Trolls World Tour and Frozen 2; and educational musical content in a special learning hub.

Family entertainment is the next big frontier for Spotify, which recently charged full steam ahead into podcasts with the purchase of Anchor FM, which hosts the Adventure Media & Events Podcast Network.
