Stack is taking the trading card format somewhere a little wilder.
The new collectibles company will launch Untamed: Origins Series nationwide in October, combining premium trading cards with a serialized graphic novel that collectors assemble one pack at a time.
Rather than treating the story as background material, Stack builds it directly into the cards. Photographer Lance Krueger’s wildlife imagery appears alongside an original fantasy narrative adapted by author Kathrin Hutson. Story Cards advance the plot on their backs, while nine-card chapters line up inside a binder to reveal each piece of the larger saga.
The first series follows competing whitetail deer clans after the discovery of a mysterious power in the Untamed Realm. Stack plans to introduce additional animal species as the story expands.
Each eight-card foil pack contains five Story Cards, two cold foil Character Cards, and one Lore Card. Character Cards span Rare, Legendary, Mythic, and Eternal tiers and carry individual Stack Scores.
Collectors have plenty to hunt beyond the base set. Untamed includes 81 Story Cards, 81 Character Parallels, and 18 Lore Cards, along with Tempest/Revenant variants, 18 sequentially numbered Secret Cards, and three one-of-one Founders Secret cards hidden throughout the print run.
“Put down the screen and step into the Untamed. The greatest stories aren’t watched, they’re lived,” said Seth Rosenberg, Founder of Stack.
