The magic of FAO Schwarz is expanding to more than 1,800 locations across the U.S. this month thanks to a new deal with Target.
Today, the Minneapolis-based retailer pulled back the curtain on its annual list of Bullseye’s Top Holiday Toys alongside plans for a collaboration with the iconic New York-based toy store. Under the new deal, Target will stock an assortment of 70 exclusive FAO Schwarz items in all of its stores while 300 items from Target-exclusive brands, including Pillowfort and Cat & Jack, will be sold at the FAO Schwarz flagship in New York City.
“This year’s exclusive FAO Schwarz collection and our largest Bullseye’s Top Toys list ever provides something new and exciting for kids of all ages, all at an incredible value,” says Christina Hennington, executive vice president and chief merchandising officer, Target. “We also recognize our guests have a lot to think about this holiday season, and we hope they find comfort in the safe, easy experiences we’ve created, whether shopping in our stores or using one of our convenient fulfillment options.”
The collaboration with FAO Schwarz will include an interactive boutique on Target’s website to showcase exclusive toys including the famous Giant Piano Dance Mat, plush bears, toy soldiers, and more. The full lineup will be revealed on Oct. 25. Additionally, a range of limited-edition collectibles will be revealed on Oct. 18. The F•A•O•M•G assortment includes items priced from $50 to $4,000 and will be available for purchase beginning Oct. 20.
Finally, Target is stepping up to assist Toys For Tots. Beginning Oct. 25, Target will donate $2 for every Top Toy purchased — up to $1 million — to benefit the Marine Corps’ annual giving initiative.
