Over the past few weeks, many in the toy industry have questioned whether or not Toy Fair New York (TFNY) will happen. This week, The Toy Association doubled down on its messaging that TFNY is moving ahead and it’s doing so under strict safety protocols.
“Providing an environment for the toy and play community to come together to connect, engage, and do business safely remains the essential top priority, and from the very beginning The Toy Association has required proof of vaccine and mask-wearing for every person entering TFNY 2022,” says Steve Pasierb, president & CEO at The Toy Association. “While we recognize that the new variant has created uncertainty and it’s an evolving situation we monitor throughout each day, those planning to attend Toy Fair should know the Javits Center is among the safest venues in the country to come together.”
As it stands right now, attendees will have to follow New York City’s indoor activity guidelines and the Javits Center’s internal policy requiring proof of vaccination for all who enter the building.
Thus far, the industry has shown its eagerness to gather and the list of attending exhibitors and retailers has grown in recent weeks. The big three — Amazon, Target, and Walmart — have all committed to sending buyers as of this writing.
The Toy Association encourages attendees to download the NYC COVID Safe app and complete the Photo ID and Vaccine Verification forms before arriving at TFNY. Additional updates will be published on the official TFNY website as they happen. The event is slated to take place Feb. 19-22, 2022.
As always, the Toy Book team from Adventure Media & Events will be on hand at Toy Fair New York to unveil our biggest issue of the year. Check out our 2022 editorial calendar for more information.
