Industry veteran Mark McColgan is joining the Tonies team as General Manager of North America, the company’s largest and fastest-growing market. He succeeds Christoph Frehsee, who recently transitioned to Tonies’ global management team as Chief Revenue Officer.

McColgan brings more than two decades of experience overseeing global toy and consumer brands. Most recently, he served as SVP and General Manager of the U.S. at Mattel, where he led commercial strategy for the company’s many beloved brands, such as Hot Wheels, UNO, Barbie, Fisher-Price, and its licensed Disney and Universal lines.

Under the watch of Frehsee, McColgan will spearhead North American operations, on a mission to sustain Tonies’ exponential, year-over-year growth in the region. In 2025 alone, North American revenue increased 40% to $331, according to the company’s latest Annual Report. To build on this trajectory, McColgan’s strategy will focus on expanding Tonies’ retail presence, deepening its existing partnerships, and creating exciting new opportunities to drive consumer engagement.
