Christmas just got toy-filled for even more kids!

Toys for the North is a Canadian toy collection and distribution charity, born from a collaboration with distribution logistics company Thomson Terminals, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police ‘O Division’, and the Canadian Toy Association.

The charity has announced a huge increase in donated toys this year, up 170% from 2021, and an overall increase of 840% since 2019. With a total of more than $470,000 worth of toys donated, the charity is set to make the holiday season a good one for kids and families in need.

“We are extremely grateful for the generous donations provided by Canada’s toy manufacturers,” says Andrew Wagar, chair, Marketing and Communications, Canadian Toy Association. “Every year since Toys for the North launched in 2010, Canada’s toy manufacturers have increased their support for this program, allowing us to expand our reach and distribution and to support more and more families. No one understands the joy a toy brings to a child during the holiday season better than toy industry professionals, and we thank them for their continued support.”

Toys for the North specifically thanked a number of toy companies for donations, including Spin Master, Ravensburger, LEGO, Hasbro, and more.

Since 2010, Toys for the North has received and distributed more than $1.5 million worth of toys to children across Canada. With the newest numbers for 2022, it’s looking like that figure will increase in the coming years.
