University Games has announced a global distribution agreement with the John N. Hansen Company, granting it exclusive worldwide rights to distribute the full Hansen product line. The deal includes Hoberman Spheres, Fame Master models, handheld electronic games, Hansen-branded classic titles, and a range of other games and dolls.

This partnership deepens a decades-long relationship between the two companies. University Games President Bob Moog credits John Hansen Sr. — founder of the John N. Hansen Company — with being the company’s first customer and early mentor when University Games launched in 1985. Now, 40 years later, University Games will take the reins in bringing Hansen’s portfolio to a wider global audience.

“This arrangement means as much to our company and to me personally as any of our 17 acquisitions,” says Moog. “40 years after John Hansen gave University Games its start, I can now pay his family back by sending the John Hansen products to a higher level on a worldwide basis.”

The agreement allows University Games to broaden its reach in board games, electronic games, and puzzles, while building on a legacy of collaboration and trust between the Moog and Hansen families. Retailers will continue ordering from their current sales reps or directly from University Games, with no changes in the process expected for 2025.

“I know that my grandfather would share my excitement at handing over the distribution reigns to Bob and University Games,” says John Hansen III, CEO of the John N. Hansen Company. “They were my first choice for this next step for the company.”

University Games’ existing portfolio includes titles marketed under the Briarpatch, Forbidden Games, The Learning Journey International, Front Porch Classics, Great Explorations, and BePuzzled brands across the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, and other markets.
