Leading animal welfare charity the RSPCA has awarded a licence to toy design and production company WOW Toys to produce a range of toys for the pre-school market. Called My Pocket Pets, they are a set of collectible RSPCA animal figure packs suitable for kids ages 18 months and up. The agreement between the RSPCA and WOW Toys will last for five years. Further products are to be developed and launched throughout the year.
Each pack contains an animal figure, an RSPCA activity sheet, an RSPCA cartoon, and an RSPCA information section aimed at teaching pre-school children about animal welfare. There are six animal figures in the series: Pippi the pooch, Socks the cat, Clarissa the cow, Patch the pig, Wiggles the Dalmatian, and Jenny the horse.
RSPCA My Pocket Pets will be on sale from early February. The line will be stocked in Waterstones, Tesco, WH Smiths, Tesco Direct, Amazon, participating RSPCA outlets, and more.
RSPCA My Pocket Pets contain no small parts, no PVC, and no toxic paint and are free from cadmium, phthalates, and PAH.
The WOW range will further boost awareness of the RSPCA licensing campaign. The RSPCA is looking at, or has already signed, deals in apparel, giftware, toys, housewares, stationery, publishing, pet food, wild animal food, and pet accessories.
