Lego Joins the Adventure as Jurassic World Toy Licensee

Image converted using ifftoanyUniversal Partnerships & Licensing (UP&L) has announced that The Lego Group will create original products in conjunction with the film, Jurassic World, scheduled for release on June 12. The Lego Group rounds out a branded toy campaign that includes global master toy licensee Hasbro, which will introduce action figures, role-play items, and games. The new Lego toys will be available next May.

Additional Jurassic World toy and game licensees include Bulls-i-Toy for trading cards and stickers; Cardinal Games for puzzles; Jada Toys for R/C and die-cast vehicles; KidDesigns for electronics; Rubie’s Costume Co. for costumes; and Ludia, which will create a mobile and social game in partnership with UP&L.

Crayola Signs on for New Power Rangers Products

Oct7.CrayolaPowerRangersSaban Brands has partnered with Crayola to produce a line of Power Rangers-themed coloring and activity products.

The Crayola line will include no-mess color wonder products, coloring pads and pages, giant coloring pages, interactive color-by-number activity sheets, and a variety of color and sticker sets based on the TV series.

The Power Rangers items are expected to launch next fall, starting with products themed around the upcoming season of Saban’s Power Rangers Dino Charge.

Out of the Blue Enterprises Acquires Colorforms

New products in the line are expected to debut at retail next fall, based on popular brands including Nickelodeon’s Dora the Explorer, Bubble Guppies, Spongebob Squarepants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Peter Rabbit, Pete the Cat, and Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood.

Colorforms Brand LLC, the new division of Out of the Blue, is showcasing its new Colorforms toy line to retailers at the Fall Toy Preview in Dallas this week.

Worlds Collide as World Tech Meets the Marvel Universe

WorldTechToysWorld Tech Toys is teaming up with Marvel for R/C toys based on Avengers, the Amazing Spider-Man, and Guardians of the Galaxy. Avengers characters will include Iron Man, Captain America, and the Hulk, while the Guardians of the Galaxy lineup will feature Star-Lord, Groot, and Rocket Raccoon.

The company has also added Shark Week, and will introduce flying R/C robots based on National Football League (NFL) and National Basketball Association players. The NFL line-up will include Johnny Manziel and Peyton Manning.

New Girl Scouts Collection from Wicked Cool Toys to Include Girl Scout Cookie Oven

GirlScouts.DeluxeOvenLogoWicked Cool Toys has entered into a licensing relationship with Girl Scouts of the USA to introduce a new Girl Scout Cookie Oven, as well as a comprehensive line of role play, craft, and activity products.

The Girl Scout Cookie Oven will feature mixes inspired by popular Girl Scout Cookies such as Thin Mints, Trefoils, peanut butter, and caramel coconut varieties, as well as traditional classics such as chocolate chip, oatmeal, and brownies. Meanwhile, Wicked Cool’s line of craft and activity kits for ages 6 and up, entitled D.I.Y. girl, is inspired by fun projects Girl Scouts engage in. These include such diverse offerings as a string art kit, a jewelry making kit, a collage silhouette kit, a garland making kit, and more.

Wicked Cool Toys expects its line to arrive at mass market retailers throughout the U.S. beginning in the fall of next year.

Hasbro and PEZ International Strike Sweet Deal for My Little Pony Branded PEZ Dispensers and Candy

MyLittlePony.PEZHasbro Inc. has signed a global licensing agreement with PEZ International to develop a My Little Pony-branded line of PEZ dispensers, PEZ dextrose fizzy candy, and fizzy rolls. The new dispensers and candy are on display at Hasbro’s booth at Brand Licensing Europe in London, and will be available beginning in early 2015 in Germany, France, and Austria, followed by additional markets worldwide.

The My Little Pony line of PEZ dispensers will be based on Pinkie Pie, Twilight Sparkle, and Rainbow Dash, and the assorted fruit candy range will include lemon, strawberry, orange, and cherry flavors.

Tiggly Introduces Tiggly Counts, a New Kind of Counting Toy for the iPad

TigglyCountsTiggly has launched Tiggly Counts, inspired by the Cuisenaire rods used in Montessori classrooms, and featuring five colorful counting toys that physically interact with new parent- and educator-approved Tiggly learning apps for the iPad. DHX Media Signs Golden Bear Toys as Twirlywoos Master Toy Partner

UK broadcaster CBeebies has commissioned a brand new preschool series, Twirlywoos, from Ragdoll Productions. The series, set to air next year, will revolve around the Twirlywoos: four small, bird-like characters who are inquisitive, enthusiastic, and constantly looking to learn something new about the world.

Twirlywoos will combine stop-frame animation and live action sequences set in the real world. It will be produced in association with DHX Media, which will handle global distribution, merchandising, brand management, and marketing. DHX Brands, the consumer products arm of DHX Media, has signed a global master toy deal with Golden Bear Toys, which will launch product in 2016, with a key focus on plush and plastics (play sets/figurines), bath toys and games, and activity products.

Funko Partners with Sesame Street on New Pop! Series

Funko.SesameStreetFunko has a new license with Sesame Workshop to create a series of Sesame Street Pop! Vinyl figures. The partnership will launch at this month’s New York Comic Con with the first to market release of a Super Grover Pop! Vinyl figure, which stands 3.75 inches tall and comes in a window display box. The Super Grover Pop! Vinyl figure will be available for sale at Toy Tokyo’s New York Comic Con Booth.

A complete Sesame Street Pop! series will follow next year. The Sesame Street Pop! series will include Bert, Ernie, Big Bird, Oscar, The Count, Elmo, Cookie Monster, and Grover.

Puzzles, Costumes, and More All Part of DHX Brands’ Line-up for Teletubbies

DHXMediaOriginalTeletubbiesDHX Brands has appointed numerous new UK licensing partners for the revamped Teletubbies series. Copyright Promotions Licensing Group (CPLG) brokered the deals.

CPLG secured deals with Ravensburger to produce themed puzzles, MV Sports for wheeled and outdoor toys, and International Greetings for the arts and crafts category. Rainbow Productions has been enlisted to create costumes based on characters Tinky Winky, Laa Laa, Dipsy, and Po.

DHX Brands has also recently appointed Character Options as global master toy partner.

Products are expected to arrive in retail locations beginning in 2016.
