Nintendo will launch its first app, Miitomo, in March for iOS and Andriod phones and tablets. Bandai America will showcase its toy line for the new animated series Miraculous during the North American International Toy Fair from Feb. 13 to 16. The series’ first season premiered on Nickelodeon, having already debuted in France and Korea with consistent number one ratings.
Bandai will introduce an assortment of toys centered on aspirational action play, transformation and friendship. Targeted to girls ages 4-8, the Miraculous toy line is set to launch this fall at mass and specialty retailers across the globe. [Read more...]

Toy State has secured a licensing partnership with Nickelodeon to design, develop, and manufacture lines of toy vehicles featuring the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles entertainment brand. The three-year deal will allow Toy State to create Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles-themed lights and sound, preschool, and radio-controlled vehicles. Barbie adds three new body types to its Fashionistas line—tall, curvy, and petite—and a variety of skin tones, hairstyles, and outfits.
The new line for the year now includes four body types (the original and three new bodies), seven skin tones, 22 eye colors, 24 hairstyles, and on-trend fashions and accessories. The original line, which started last year, included 23 dolls with new skin tones, hair colors, and a flat foot.
The new dolls will be available to order today at Shop.Mattel.com in the U.S., and the collection will be available in the spring at major toy retailers worldwide.
