Partnering up with Samsung, Mattel is introducing three new channels to Samsung TV Plus.

Mattel brands have gone well beyond the world of toys alone. Whether it’s Barbie: The Movie or animated series such as Thomas & Friends, Mattel has solidified itself as a presence in entertainment. Now, the company is teaming up with Samsung to bring the Barbie and Friends, Hot Wheels Action, and Mattel Jr. channels to Samsung TV Plus. This partnership will mark Mattel’s first foray into the growing format of subscription-less streaming.

In launching these channels, we gain the opportunity to deepen our relationship with existing Mattel fans and connect with all-new audiences.
Jason Horowitz, Senior Vice President, Global Head of Marketing & Media at Mattel

The new Mattel channels will offer entertainment content from the company’s ever-popular franchises, including American Girl, Barbie, Hot Wheels, Fisher-Price, Masters of the Universe, classic Monster High, and more.

The Barbie and Friends channel will feature adventures starring Barbie and her companions. Hot Wheels Action will include thrilling Hot Wheels races; fights between He-Man and Skeletor; and the stories found in Thomas & Friends. Finally, Mattel Jr. will feature Kipper the dog, Pingu the penguin, and a number of Fisher-Price characters.

The three Mattel channels are readying to go live on Samsung TV Plus later this year. They will be accessible through Samsung Smart TVs, Galaxy Devices, and on the Samsung TV Plus website. Mattel is eager to see the partnership launch, with Michelle Mendelovits, Global Head of Mattel Television Studios, stating “We are pleased to partner with Samsung TV Plus to advance Mattel’s content strategy and provide audiences with a premium viewing experience.”
