Three Sesame Street Comic Books to Release this Fall

SesameStreetComicsApe Entertainment, in partnership with Sesame Workshop, has released three comic books featuring the case of the children’s show Sesame Street. The original titles will launch throughout the fall in print and e-book formats. The individual issues are produced in full color, and each 28-page short story will emphasize educational and entertaining content for young readers.

The comic books star Elmo, Big Bird, Cookie Monster, Grover, and all of the familiar friends from Sesame Street. Another Sunny Day was released on October 28; Blast from the Past will be available on November 23; and Many Friendly Neighbors will be available on January 1. Every issue includes a “How to Read a Comic” feature, which highlights a different aspect of how parents can best share comic books with kids, such as learning what a panel is and how sounds are visually represented. Temple Run Wins Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award, Unveils New Licensing Partnerships

Dimensional Branding Group (DBG), the licensing agency for Imangi Studios, announced today that Temple Run has won Nickelodeon’s annual Kids’ Choice Award for Favorite App. Temple Run beat Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja, and Minecraft for the award.

Nickelodeon said more than 387 million votes were cast online in more than 22 countries, in 20 categories, spanning film, television, books, music, and sport for the stunt-filled annual award show.

More then just a game, Dimensional Branding has extended the Temple Run brand to include children’s sleepwear by Komar, digital comics with Ape Entertainment, and card and board games with Spin Master, among other licensing partnerships.

Casper’s Scare School Added to KiZoic’s Titles

Ape Entertainment is adding Classic Media’s Casper’s Scare School property to its KiZoic line of young reader titles. Based on the film Casper’s Scare School, which was released in 2006, and the subsequent television series that premiered in 2009, the series follows Casper who is in Scare School to get in touch with his spooky side—or else.

The Casper’s Scare School book series, published by Ape Entertainment, will be in stores this October.
