BreyerFest Silver Jubilee Returns for 25th Annual Model Horse Festival & Horse Fair

BreyerFest Silver Jubilee, the annual fan festival and horse fair hosted by Breyer Animal Creations, which makes realistic horse models for play and collecting, returns for its 25th year. The three-day event is scheduled for July 11 to 13 at Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Ky.

This year, special guests will include Waller Farms’ Novelisto D, the equine star of Winter’s Tale; and TJ, equine star of Hidalgo, along with trainers Cari Swenson and Rex Peterson. Knights of Iceland, a group of Icelandic horses, will be on-hand to perform their native gait, the tolt, at high speeds in formation. There will also be portrait model horses on-hand.

On the evening of July 12, BreyerFest will host the BreyerFest Celebration of Horses, starring Gala of the Royal Horses, which captures the beauty and maneuvers of baroque horse breeds favored by European royalty. Performers will include Andalusians, Friesians, Lipizzaners, and Arabian stallions. [Read more...]

BreyerFest 2012 Kicks Off

The 2012 BreyerFest British Invasion kicks off this Friday, July 20. BreyerFest is Breyer Animal Creations’ annual celebration of horses. Each year, BreyerFest features a unique theme; this year’s British Invasion is a tribute to the London Olympics. Held each July at the Kentucky Horse Park, the three-day festival features horse performances, a Trade Show, a Breyer Store filled with model horses and equestrian-themed gifts, and meet-and-greets with the horses that inspired Breyer’s portrait models. Admission to BreyerFest includes free activities, such as Stablemates painting, pony rides, petting zoo and pig races, face painting, and magic shows.

Each Single Day Ticket Holder will receive a Stablemates Model and the opportunity to watch America’s future Olympians compete in the Adequan FEI North American Young Riders Championships, presented by Gotham Norrh. Friday’s events include the Hair Fascinator Contest at 1:00 p.m., the BreyerFest Live Auction at 6:00 p.m., a Bit of British Pop-Up, and a presentation of Romeo & Juliet, performed by Kentucky Shakespeare at 10:30 a.m.
