Moose Toys Launches Despicable Me Mineez

58203 Mineez Despicable Me Deluxe Character PackMoose Toys launched Despicable Me Mineez at retail, a new line of squishy character collectible figures based on the Illumination Entertainment animated film franchise, Despicable Me.

Fans can collect more than 75 Season 1 figures, available in 3-packs, 6-packs, and blind packs including Ultra Rare and Limited Edition figures. The collectibles are based on characters from the movie such as Gru, Agnes, Margo, Edith, and the Minions, and are available in styles that fans are familiar with, in addition to never-before-seen character themes.

WowWee Introduces Minion MiP Turbo Dave

WowWee_MinionMiPTurboDaveWowWee is releasing Minion MiP Turbo Dave in May, combining its MiP robot with popular entertainment brand Minions. The robot will hit shelves coinciding with Illumination Entertainment’s Despicable Me 3, which debuts in theaters on June 30.

Turbo Dave will be kids’ own personal Minion to help them carry out mischievous schemes. It will respond to hand gestures and can navigate around rooms. Kids can download the Turbo Dave app to control their Minion remotely, plan paths for him to self-navigate, or have it interact with other characters or props from the Despicable Me franchise. Kids can also use a coding platform to program Turbo Dave.

Kids License Monitor Study Says Minions Still Outrank Other Licenses

Minions is still the No. 1 license among kids in the UK, Germany, and France, according to iconkids & youth Kids License Monitor wave II/2016 study. In the UK, Spider-Man comes second, followed by Ice Age. In Germany and France, Ice Age is second and Spider-Man is third.

NPD Projects U.S. Toy Industry to Grow 6.2 Percent This Year

NPDGrouplogoAccording to The NPD Group, U.S. toy industry sales will grow 6.2 percent, or just over $1 billion, for full-year 2015. The forecast is based on the positive mid-year sales performance of the industry, which grew by 6.5 percent, or about $400 million, through July 4.

Jakks Pacific Secures Licensing Agreement for Despicable Me Franchise and Minions

MinionsMovieheaderJakks Pacific Inc. has been granted the rights to manufacture, market, and distribute a line of consumer products based on the Minions from Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment’s Despicable Me franchise, as well as their upcoming film, Minions, which arrives in theaters in July. The licensing agreement, awarded by Universal Partnerships & Licensing, covers inflatable ball pits, wagons, arcade games, The Original Big Wheel, outdoor children’s furniture, and more. These products are expected to launch at North American retailers this spring.

“We are pleased to be a part of the phenomenally successful Despicable Me franchise, and the highly anticipated Minions film, by offering an array of products that feature popular characters from the films,” says Tara Hefter, vice president of licensing, Jakks Pacific Inc. “We are excited to bring a new line of products to these films’ fans.”
