Domo Ghostbusters Co-Brand Comes to Life with New Partners

Domo.GhostbustersBig Tent Entertainment has lined up more partners to represent the pop-culture mash-up of Domo and Slimer. Underground Toys, Kelly Toy, and Funko will be releasing products portraying Domo as the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, Slimer, and a full-fledged Ghostbuster.

Underground Toys will create a line featuring plush, mugs, stickers, and more for department stores, specialty stores, stationery and gift stores, catalogs, and Internet retailers worldwide (excluding Asia). Kelly Toys will create multiple sizes of soft-sculptured toys for amusement parks and carnival and prize games in the U.S. and Canada.

Funko will be involved in a line of Domo/Ghostbusters-inspired pop vinyl figures for worldwide distribution (excluding Asia) at specialty stores, supermarkets, drug stores, catalogues, stationery and gift stores, online retailers, and mass market. [Read more...]

Underground Toys’ 2014 Licensed Product Line to Debut at Toy Fair

UndergroundToyslogoUnderground Toys will be releasing new licensed merchandise at this year’s American International Toy Fair. New brand licenses include World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), Anchorman, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Walking Dead, and Vikings. Highlights from these ranges include a Walking Dead apron, all-new WWE talking character plush, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles talking soft bag buddies, and a “classy” Anchorman Ron Burgundy moustache bottle opener.

Underground will also be displaying classic and new products from existing ranges, with many of the new items set for release this year. Doctor Who merchandise includes The Other Doctor’s Sonic Screwdriver, action figures based on The Other Doctor and The Twelfth Doctor (played by actors John Hurt and Peter Capaldi, respectively), and the Doctor Who Mr. Potato Head collection.

An extensive range of Star Wars gifts and home products will also be revealed, some of which will be publicized for the first time. Inserting a degree of fun into classical play, a large variety of Underground’s merchandise will now begin to incorporate movement, sound effects, and spoken phrases: For example, the plush Star Wars Action Yoda features both movement and sound.

Ghostbusters, one of the most successful film franchises of all time, will be celebrating its 30th  Anniversary next year. Sony Pictures Consumer Products (SPCP) will launch an all new program targeting the core fan base with products in categories such as apparel, toys, construction, collectibles, and publishing through partnerships. SPCP will participate in events and engage in new partnerships sure to excite fans new and old.

SPCP has partnered with pop culture art gallery, Gallery 1988 to create a traveling art show designed by top artists, which will include their interpretations of Ghostbusters over the last 30 years. Limited-edition screen prints and posters will be available during each stop of the tour, which will conclude at Comic-Con International in San Diego.

Some of the global toy, publishing, and apparel licensees supporting the anniversary are Mattel Inc., IDW Publishing, World Tech Toys, Quantum Mechanics, Factory Entertainment, Diamond Select and Medicom Toys, Mad Engine, Titan Figures, Uniqlo, Kientai, and BCI. Funko and Underground Toys will produce collectibles and novelty products.

Funko and Underground Toys Announce a European Partnership

Funko LLC, creators and manufacturers of entertainment-related toys, has partnered with London-based global entertainment merchandise company Underground Toys Ltd. This U.S. and UK company alliance will allow Underground Toys to incorporate the Funko line of products within their range of licensed merchandise to be distributed among European retailers, including Toys “R” Us, Tesco, ASDA, Carrefour, and FNAC.

With licenses for more than 70 different franchises, including Star Wars, Hello Kitty, Walking Dead, Disney, Marvel, WWE, and Teenage Mutant Ninja TutlesFunko currently services many U.S. retailers such as Hot TopicBarnes and Noble, FYE, and Walmart. With this new partnership, the products will be distributed by Underground Toys in Europe.

Entertainment One Expands Peppa Pig Brand

peppa_pigEntertainment One Family announces the U.S. expansion of the Peppa Pig brand. Based on the Nick Jr. animated television series Peppa Pig, the licensing deals will mark the brand’s U.S. debut in several categories: games and puzzles, backpacks and lunch kits, health, beauty and accessories, novelty gear, and magazine publishing.

The deal includes TCG‘s Tumble & Spin memory game and Fast Forward‘s Peppa Pig backpacks and lunch kits for children ages 2 to 6. Added Extras will produce a line of hair accessories, bath and hair products, lip balm, and costume jewelry. Underground Toys will produce an assortment of collectible gear for Peppa fans of all ages.

In addition to the new licensing deals, the brand will launch the following line extensions: Redan Publishing will dedicated an issue of their interactive magazine to Peppa Pig for children, Fisher-Price will release new Bedtime Peppa plush dolls and Muddy Puddles Bathtime Peppa toys, and an assortment of new board, softcover, and hardcover books will be launched in this year by Scholastic and Candlewick PressEntertainment One’s  new DVD Bubbles will include ten fun-filled episodes featuring wholesome entertainment for the entire family. All products are set to be released throughout the remainder of this year and 2014.
