The Learning Express Annual Convention will be held June 27-30 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville. Attendees will include the Learning Express corporate staff, the owners of more than 140 Learning Express toy stores, and more than 100 of the world’s top toy vendors. Vendors attend by invitation only.

What did you collect?

As a kid I had a great POG collection. As a matter of fact I kept just one all these years, and it’s taped to my monitor at work. Other things I’ve collected over the years include slap bracelets, Troll dolls, and Garbage Pail Kid cards (still have those!).

So fess up. What did you collect?

Toy Industry Donations to Comfort Haitian Kids

Toys valued at nearly $30,000, donated by companies across the toy industry to the Toy Industry Foundation (TIF), will be distributed in partnership with Kids in Distressed Situations, Inc. (K.I.D.S.) to children who survived the devastating Haiti earthquake on January 12.  The contribution by TIF included 2,500 new toys that will provide comfort to children in refugee shelters and camps, schools, and orphanages throughout the country.

K.I.D.S. has worked in Haiti through various partners since 1995, providing apparel, shoes, toys, and books to children in need. K.I.D.S.’ main partner for this Haiti relief is Operation Compassion, which has helped Haiti’s poor for the last 10 years.
