Women in Toys (WIT) has gathered business executives, celebrities, government officials, and more for the panel slate of its upcoming WIT Empowerment Day. Scheduled to take place on October 5 at the Dallas Market Center, WIT Empowerment Day will provide opportunities to meet with panelists, as well as more than a dozen hand-selected expert industry mentors, who can offer advice on how to grow businesses and get concepts to market. The event is free to WIT members.
The current WIT Empowerment Day schedule includes:
• Shark Tank Keynote Panel, featuring Mark Cuban and winning contestant Roominate.
• Walmart Buyer Panel, with the Walmart’s vice president of toys and members of its buying team.
• Start-Up Success Story Panel, with entrepreneurial role models, including previous Empowerment Day graduates.
• Financing Panel, with three different sources of capital, specializing in funding toy start-ups.
• Friends in High Places Panel, featuring representatives from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
• Winning Pitch Panel, with Hasbro inventor relations, a licensing agent, and a manufacturers sales rep.
