ZAG America, the studio behind Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir, announced that Cartoon Network has secured the broadcast rights to its upcoming animated series, Power Players. Playmates Toys (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) is on board as master toy partner for development and creation of a multi-segment toy line that will include action figures and role-play toys. Power Players was developed by Jeremy Zag, written by Man of Action (Ben 10, Big Hero 6), and co-produced by OnEntertainment. The series marks the first collaboration between ZAG America and Cartoon Network, in addition to ZAG’s first partnership with Playmates Toys.

Presented in hybrid CGI animation, Power Players is an action-comedy that follows the adventures of Axel, an adventurous boy who transforms into a living action figure. Together with a team of toy heroes, he embarks on big “small” adventures. According to ZAG America, this is the first time this rendering technique has been used in a series format — taking on big challenges from a toy’s eye view.

Power Players is expected to debut later this year.
