Spin Master Corp. is positioning itself for a new era of growth by focusing on three distinct “creative centers” for the company: Toys, Entertainment, and Digital Games.

The company hired Max Rangel to serve as its global president beginning next month and will step into the role of global president and CEO in April. Spin Master Co-Founders and current Co-CEOs, Ronnen Harary and Anton Rabie, will work with Rangel during the transition.

Rangel joins the company from SC Johnson & Sons where he served as senior vice president of lifestyle brands in international markets. His experience includes additional roles at SC Johnson prior to which he served for 22 years at Procter and Gamble and three years at The Hershey Co.

“Since founding Spin Master together more than 26 years ago, we’ve grown from a single, item-driven business to a leading global children’s entertainment company with three thriving creative centres in toys, entertainment and digital games,” says Harary. “With a well-defined long-term vision and a strong executive management team in place, we believe the time is right to transition Spin Master beyond its founders on a day to day operating level. This natural transition will allow Anton and I to emphasize our strategic roles where we can focus our efforts on shepherding Spin Master’s course for the future.”

Harary and Rabie will continue to serve on Spin Master’s board of directors. Additionally, Harary will guide growth in digital games while Rabie will “continue to provide input on Spin Master’s culture globally.” The duo will also remain active in the business development of the company and all mergers and acquisitions, such as the recent acquisition of Rubik’s Brand Ltd.

Spin Master’s third Co-Founder Ben Varadi continues in his role as chief creative officer and remains on the company’s board of directors.

Additionally, Spin Master is embarking on an executive leadership development plan with the following appointments.

  • Chris Beardall will be been appointed president of Spin Master Toys
  • Jennifer Dodge will be appointed president of Spin Master Entertainment
  • Fredrik Loving will be appointed president, Spin Master Digital Games.
