Following the news last summer that Toikido inked a deal with indie game developer Boneloaf to serve as the master toy licensee for products inspired by Gang Beasts, another player has entered the game.
PMI Ltd. is joining Toikido as a manufacturing partner for the Gang Beasts toy line with eyes on continuing the success of the companies’ partnership for Among Us-inspired toys last year.
“We are seeing how friends and family love to share the silliness and fun of Gang Beasts, and with Toikido we are planning on delivering a full line of toy products that will be just as much fun for the game’s fans,” says Omer Dekel, vice president of international sales at PMI Ltd.
“The Boneloaf team are amazing — they are passionate and involved in every step of product planning and development,” says Toikido founder Darran Garnham. “I’m super excited to bring product to market for current Gang Beasts fans and bring new ones into the franchise. PMI has been a great Toikido partner and the initial discussions on Gang Beasts have been fantastic.”
Gang Beasts formally launched in 2017 following a PC “early access” period that began in 2014. Over the past few years, the game has evolved with versions published for PC and console platforms, including Xbox One and Playstation 4. The award-winning title features a colorful crew of “stupid pugnacious thugs punching, kicking, and throwing their foes into unspecified hazardous machinery, flaming incinerator pits, and ginormous industrial fans.”
PMI and Toikido expect their first wave of Gang Beasts toys to hit retail this summer.
