Entries for Licensing Expo’s annual License This! competition are officially open and will be accepted until March 10.
The competition gives designers, illustrators, and animators the opportunity to break into the licensing industry. Applicants can submit unlicensed designs or illustrations to two categories — Character & Animation and Brand & Design — to a panel of judges who are looking for new, creative concepts with the potential to be applied across various consumer products categories.
The judges will pick two finalists per category, and those finalists will then compete in the in-person competition, which will take place at the Licensing Expo trade show in Las Vegas.
Winners of each category will receive a one-year Licensing International membership, a one-year Products of Change membership, and a one-to-one consultation with the License This! judges. They will also be granted a free-of-charge, 100-square-foot booth at Licensing Expo 2023.
Applicants are required to complete a submission form, which includes concept overview, audience target, licensed product range, and detailed vision about why the idea would be suitable for licensing. The competition is free to enter online, and competitors can submit their entries at licensingexpo.com.
