MGA Entertainment is betting big by going small for its newest launch.
The company behind Rainbow High, Little Tikes, and L.O.L. Surprise! is expanding its MGA Miniverse with two foodie-themed offerings: Make It Mini Food Diner Edition and Make It Mini Food Café Edition.
MGA’s Miniverse is a pocket-sized collectible brand that launched earlier this year with shrink-ray-zapped versions of its popular toys. Its new Make It Mini Food assortments are inspired by the TikTok trend of DIY crafting with resin play and mini foods. Kids ages 8 and up can unwrap a variety of inedible “ingredients” that they can use to create a mini food masterpiece. The resin “syrup” can be poured atop the pretend food and then placed in direct sunlight to harden. The company says that this line has the potential to become its “next billion-dollar ball brand” following the massive success of L.O.L. Surprise!
“This year, MGA is proud to offer more than 200 toys all under $10, making toys this season more accessible for all budgets,” says MGA Founder and CEO Isaac Larian. “The new Make It Mini Foods from MGA’s Miniverse are a part of that. Miniatures and food lovers ages 13 and up will enjoy these mini collectibles for less than $10 each – that’s engaging, affordable play that’s accessible to more families this holiday season.”
Make It Mini Food packs include an array of pretend food, from mini chocolate chips and mini sprinkles in mini collectible jars that really work to mini donut boxes with mini donuts, to a mini carton of milk with actual liquid. In total, there are more than 100 unique Make It Mini Food ingredients and kitchen accessories within 18 Make It Mini Food Café Edition packs and 18 Make It Mini Food Diner Edition packs.
Walmart stores will serve up the MGA’s Miniverse Make It Mini Food Diner Edition ($9.99) beginning Dec. 5. while the Make It Mini Food Café Edition ($6.99) will arrive later in December.
Both offerings will expand to Target and additional retailers beginning in January.
