Outright Games joins Aardman in the henhouse to bring the world of Chicken Run back to gaming for the first time in 25 years. The upcoming video game, Chicken Run: Eggstraction, is a top-down, action-stealth adventure that continues the story from the 2023 film Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget. The game launches this fall on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store.
“We’re incredibly excited to be working with Aardman on the release of Chicken Run: Eggstraction, and the first Chicken Run video game in 25 years,” says Stephanie Malham, Managing Director of Outright Games. “Aardman’s style is so distinct, and it’s been amazing to see how they’ve adapted it for a video game. We cannot wait for fans of all ages to explore this new chapter in the Chicken Run story, and to see how they can wing it through the chaos that awaits them.”
Developed with Aardman’s signature style and humor, Eggstraction challenges players to infiltrate a series of heavily guarded farms to rescue their fellow chickens from the sinister nugget industry. With support for single-player or two-player local co-op, the game blends strategic sneaking with absurd comedy — expect traffic cone disguises, sharp-eyed guards, and plenty of poultry puns.
Original voice actors Bella Ramsey and Josie Sedgwick-Davies reprise their roles as Molly and Frizzle, and the game’s story is penned by Dawn of the Nugget contributor Larry Rickard. A surprise cameo from the Wallace & Gromit universe adds another layer of fan appeal to this barnyard caper.
The project marks a major milestone for both Outright Games and Aardman, expanding the Chicken Run franchise into interactive entertainment for a new generation of players.
