    Wind Dancer Films has appointed Licensing Street LCC as its U.S. agent for Ready Jet Go! The consumer products program for the new animated space themed series will launch licensed toys, publishing, and apparel nationwide next year.

    Berkshire Museum will add national brands to its Ten Days of Play experience. During the event, museum spaces will offer an array of modular building toys, including a LEGO station courtesy of Pley, an architectural building set from Bilderhoos, Tegu magnetic blocks, and big blue blocks from KaBOOM’s Imagination Playground.

    Mercer Mayer and Little Critter LLC have signed an agreement for Little Critter to develop into a global entertainment brand. John R. Sansevere will lead the creation of animated content for multiplatform distribution and the development for a strategic global licensing and merchandising program across multiple categories. Little Critter LLC has also retained Stuart Snyder, former president/COO of Turner Broadcasting System’s Animation, to provide guidance and support across all elements of the project in efforts to help grow the brand in all formats.

    Amazon has signed a multi-year, multimillion dollar production deal with American Girl to produce four live-action specials and options to produce multiple seasons of episodic content. The episodes will feature characters from the BeForever and Girl of the Year franchises. The first special is scheduled to premiere on Amazon Prime Video in the U.S., UK, Germany, and Austria later this year.

    Aurora World has relaunched its website, auroragift.com, with the objective to improve users online experience. The site offers a cleaner design that is easier for users to navigate, with clearer accessibility to Aurora World’s most popular categories: Sea Sparkles, Miyoni, Gnomes, and My Little Pony. Visitors also have the ability to search by theme, brand, or license, and the site offers easier exhibition for their more than 3,500 products, as well as easier transitions between mobile devices.

    Disney’s new original tween show Star Darlings, will premiere its first on-air special tonight on Disney Channel. The 30 minute on air special, “Becoming Star Darlings,” introduces 12 “Star-Charmed” girls who pursue their individual wishes with determination and the help of their friends. The special will extend the stories from the  book series, Star Darlings from Disney Publishing Worldwide.

    Mattel and Disney Consumer Products have renewed their relationship for the Cars franchise and the upcoming Disney•Pixar film, Cars 3. The agreement gives Mattel continued worldwide rights to manufacture, market, and distribute toys and products based on the award-winning Cars franchise across multiple categories, including vehicles and play sets.

    K’NEX will introduce its product line for this year during the North American International Toy Fair from Feb. 13 through 16 in New York City at the Javits Center. The company, which licenses the Lincoln Logs brand from Hasbro, is celebrating the 100th birthday of the company this year. In anticipation of the centennial, production of the iconic log-building toy was brought back to the U.S. for the first time in nearly 60 years.

    The announcement of the ToyAward winners kicked off the Spielwarenmesse Toy Fair in Neuremberg on Jan. 27.  ToyAwards were bestowed in four different age-specific categories. A ten-member expert jury made up of educators, market researchers, international sales agents and, an expert in toy safety chose the winners out of a record-breaking 616 submissions. The criterion for the awards are play fun, originality, safety, finish and quality, comprehensibility of the product concept, and potential for success.

    New details have been revealed for Play Fair, presented by Lego and Nickelodeon, which will make its debut at New York City’s Javits Center on Feb. 13 and 14.  Participating brands include Hasbro, Mattel, Marvel, Cartoon Network, Crayola, Bandai, Toys “R” Us, and Warner Bros. Hosted by the Toy Industry Association and LeftField Media, Play Fair will offer attendees interactive experiences with toys, characters, and personalities.
