According to the Toy Industry Association (TIA), back-ups and delays at congested California ports have meant millions of dollars lost for toy companies around the country. At the TIA’s 5th Annual California Toy Day, scheduled to take place in Sacramento on April 14 to 15, there will be discussions regarding what is being done now—as well as what strategies are in place for the future—to prevent recurring port problems.
The event provides an opportunity for toy companies that have business interests in California to hear updates on issues that directly impact them. These include port operations to proposed changes to Proposition 65 (aka, “The Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986”) legislation and what they mean for the toy industry. Interested parties can register through the TIA homepage or RSVP to the TIA’s Jennifer Gibbons at jgibbons@toyassociation.org.
A negotiated room rate of $164 is available for participants at the Citizen Hotel in Sacramento, Calif. Contact the hotel directly at (916) 492-4460 no later than March 31.
