Hatsune Miku, a virtual pop-star performer developed by Crypton Future Media, is building on its successful partnerships with H3 Sportgear and Bioworld for apparel and accessory programs to add new licensing and retail partners across many product categories.
Carlin West Agency is extending the Hatsune Miku brand with partnerships in the following product categories: apparel, consumables, room décor, and more with FYE; accessories and drinkware with Abysse America; and footwear and trading card partners to be announced.
“We have signed partners that truly understand the power of the Hatsune Miku brand and iconic look,” says Colleen Gilday, senior vice president of Carlin West Agency, leading brand partnerships.
Hatsune Miku, meaning “The First Sound from the Future,” debuted in 2007 as a synthesizer software voicebank. Known for her iconic turquoise pigtails and futuristic fashion style, Miku has since achieved the status of a cyber celebrity, having worked with Lady Gaga, been featured in thousands of songs worldwide, and launched sold-out concerts in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.
Prior to working with Miku, Carlin West Agency has worked with other high-profile entertainment brands such as Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Neopets, Cabbage Patch Kids, and Shopkins.
