WowWee is going back to its robotic roots.
The company behind Fingerlings, Hasbro Splash Games, and the Got2Glow Fairy Finder rolled into Las Vegas today to unveil MINTiD Dog-E, The One In A Million Robot Dog.
Dog-E formally launched at CES and will be featured during Pepcom (today) and ShowStoppers (Jan. 5). The Toy Book recently got an early look at the robot dog that is unique to every owner thanks to more than a million possible combinations of lights, sounds, and personality traits.
“We are excited to announce the launch of MINTiD Dog-E, as we combine cool, cutting-edge tech with social relevance, revolutionizing the toy category for robots once again,” says Sydney Wiseman, Vice President of Brand Development & Creative Strategy at WowWee. “With Dog-E, we are reimagining robot dogs, thinking about the joy that a kid — or kidult — will feel when one is ‘MINTiD’ just for them!”
Families can begin the “minting process” of Dog-E’s personality by petting its head, touching its nose, or simply playing with it. Dog-E begins as a blank canvas — an all-white pup that reveals its colors and characteristics as it’s minting. Dog-E is app-connected and features audio sensors to hear sounds, touch sensors on its sides and body, and a persistence of vision (POV) tail that displays lighted icons and messages to communicate as it wags.
The companion app enables profiles for multiple family members so that Dog-E can have a unique personality profile just for them.
WowWee plans to launch Dog-E at retailers across the U.S. ($79.99) and Canada ($99.99) this fall.
Consumers that can’t wait to adopt a Dog-E of their own can pre-order one directly from WowWee at dog-e.com. Each preorder will receive a bonus accessory pack of four collars in a variety of colors.
