It’s a big week for toy industry data as Spielwarenemesse continues.
Circana (formerly The NPD Group) continues tradition with today’s announcement of the winners of its 13th annual Toy Industry Performance Awards. As always, the awards honor the best-selling and top-growth toys, properties, and manufacturers based on total global toy sales and in the U.S., Europe, Canada, Brazil, and Mexico as tracked by Circana’s Retail Tracking Service.
As we begin a new year and many of us gather together at the international toy fair in Nuremberg this week, Circana is incredibly proud to celebrate the innovation and quality of toys and games being developed to inspire the joy of play around the world. In a repeat performance from last year, The LEGO Group was named Global Top Toy Manufacturer of 2023 while The Pokémon Co.‘s namesake brand was deemed Global Top Toy Property. Mattel’s Hot Wheels brand took the checkered flag again as the Global Top Selling Toy of the Year for its 1:64-scale mainline singles assortment.
In the U.S., Pokémon was named Top Toy Property while Jazwares’ Squishmallows 8-inch Plush assortment scored the top spot for bestselling toy of 2023. In Mexico and Brazil, Hot Wheels dominated the charts as the top property and top-selling toy.
