Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood is focused on preschool, but it’s never too early to think about college. The series from Fred Rogers Productions (FRP) inked a new sponsorship deal with 529 College Savings Plans for an 18-month partnership, including a series of 15-second recognition spots produced by Bozell before and after each episode. The spots will inform families about tax advantages of 529 plans and the benefits and importance of saving for college as early as possible. Spots will be seen on PBS KIDS via PBS member stations and PBS KIDS streaming videos.
“Our new partnership with 529 College Savings Plans is a natural fit for Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, which focuses on learning, caring for, and sharing with others,” says Paul Siefken, president and CEO of Fred Rogers Productions. “We’re very excited to be working with 529 College Savings Plans and assisting families in getting the information they need to support their children’s education and their future.”
Clickable 529 College Savings Plan logos and branding will appear on the Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood page on the PBS Parents website and PBS KIDS video players. Additionally, the partnership will include downloadable activity and information sheets featuring Daniel Tiger and other characters; and FRP-designed printable box art for families to create custom containers – Our Family Box and Our Neighbor Box. The boxes can be used for collecting products and crafts with a focus on the series’ concepts: “Whatever you do, think about what other people need, too,” Making something is one way to say ‘I Love You,’” and “Do something nice for your neighbor.”
