DHX Media Rebrands All Divisions as WildBrain

DHX Media is rebranding itself as WildBrain.

The Canadian entertainment and content management company will carry the new branding across all divisions under a new tagline: “Imagination Runs Wild.” The DHX YouTube business, formerly known as WildBrain, is now called WildBrain Spark.

“Rebranding as WildBrain embraces our commitment to creativity, imagination and innovation, and our 360° approach to brand management,” says newly-minted CEO and Vice Chair Eric Ellenbogen. “For many years, our WildBrain group has been at the leading edge of the digital media business. As that landscape continues to rapidly evolve, now is time to unify all the parts of our company under both the name and entrepreneurial culture that WildBrain represents.”

WildBrain Spark

Following numerous appointments and executive hires, WildBrain is entering a management and business reorganization to advance its strategic priorities. Amidst the reorganization, Doug Lamb has stepped down from his role as chief financial officer and will be replaced by chief operating officer Aarom Ames, who has been appointed chief financial offiver effective immediately. The company says that the chief operating offiver position will not be replaced and that Lamb will remain in an advisory role until Oct. 31.

At its upcoming Annual Meeting of Shareholders in December, WildBrain will ask its shareholders to approve a change in ticker symbols for the rebranded company. It looks to become WILD on both the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) and NASDAQ. Until a change is approved, WildBrain will continue trading under the DHX Media name under its present symbols, DHX on the TSX, and DHXM on the NASDAQ.
