Dr. Seuss Enterprises has entered the world of augmented reality (AR) for the first time with a new educational app, Dr. Seuss’s ABC: An Amazing AR Alphabet!.

Based on the bestselling Dr. Seuss’s ABC, the app is part of a series of digital educational experiences that the company is releasing in partnership with Sugar Creative.

Kids can interact with the Seussian characters in multiple modes with the app. Story mode takes them through the alphabet sequentially (from Aunt Annie’s Alligator to Zizzer-Zazzer-Zuzz), while they can select a chapter of the book to hear an animated story with the app’s A to Z mode. Finally, the app has a Sandbox feature that kids can use to select animated characters and create a unique, AR world.

The app is available for purchase now from the Apple App Store and Google Play, intentionally timed during the annual, week-long celebration of Dr. Seuss’ birthday.
