The Nacelle Co. is charting a course for fun in an effort to support independent toy stores while extending the experience of collecting.
The studio behind Netflix’s The Toys That Made Us and the multiplatform A Toy Store Near You, has officially launched the Toy Stores of the World Passport Program. The news follows the recent opening of the company’s new publishing and toy divisions as it diversifies its offerings and finds new ways to support the toy and entertainment ecosystem.
“People track what amusement parks they go to, they track what vineyards they go to, why not collect your travel memories of going to the greatest vintage toy stores on the planet?” says Nacelle Co. CEO Brian Volk-Weiss.
The Toy Stores of the World Passport is inspired by the National Parks Passport and encourages holders to visit participating toy stores to collect unique stamps during their travels. The Toy Book has your exclusive first look at an introductory video for the program starring actor Todd Bridges (Diff’rent Strokes, Everybody Hates Chris) that was shot at Blast From the Past in Burbank, California.
The Toy Stores of the World Passport Program began seeding last fall with activations at conventions and on social media while onboarding the first round of stores. Around 100 stores are already in the program, including Spiral Toys (Japan), Toy de Jour (Illinois), Kokomo Toys (Indiana), Billy Galaxy (Oregon), Wonder Works (South Carolina), and many more. Retailers interested in joining the Toy Stores of the World Passport Program are encouraged to contact the Nacelle Co. through this form to get started.
Passports are available for sale at participating toy stores or through the Nacelle Shop online.
In other recent news from the Nacelle Co., seasons 5 and 6 of A Toy Store Near You have been greenlit. The series will debut new episodes later this year.
