The History Channel is having a toy takeover.
On Sunday, Nov. 28 at 10 p.m. ET, a new episode of Modern Marvels will delve into the history behind iconic toy brands and how they have stood the test of time. In the episode, host Adam Richman will visit toy manufacturers and get expert commentary from industry experts, including our own James Zahn, deputy editor of the Toy Book and senior editor of the Toy Insider and the Pop Insider. Richman will get the VIP treatment to see how Play-Doh is created, learn the mechanics behind the Slinky, and check out Lionel trains.
Modern Marvels: Classic Toys will debut following the premiere of the new docuseries The Toys That Built America at 9 p.m., which will explore the history behind American toys and games like Silly Putty and Frisbee. Adventure Media and Events President and Chief Toy Officer Laurie Schacht will also offer insight and commentary on the show.

A second toy-themed Modern Marvels episode will premiere on Sunday, Dec. 5 at 10 p.m. ET. In this episode, Richman visits a Monopoly factory and gets the low-down from Mattel about the Masters of the Universe comeback and how the company is fusing Hot Wheels with the latest technology.
