Mattel’s Barbie is partnering with iconic Brooklyn-based artist and designer Colm Dillane, also known as KidSuper.
KidSuper is best known for being a leader in streetwear fashion. He styled the first Ken doll to be part of Barbie’s Styled By series. The designer is appreciated in the fashion scene for his hand-drawn artistry, unique experimentation, and powerful collaborations with fashion powerhouses.
The doll is wearing Dillane’s SS21 collection, wearing an outfit inspired by his Everything’s Fake Until It’s Real claymation show, the designer’s masterpiece that debuted at Paris Fashion Week. The doll is wearing an army jacket with vintage Barbie and Ken illustrations on the sides and striped pants with black birds soaring up the legs. The doll sports a “KS” ball cap over his long, blonde curls.
The Barbie Styled By KidSuper Ken doll will be available to Barbie Club 59 members starting May 9 at creations.mattel.com before launching worldwide May 10.
