Classic Pokémon RPGs Return to Switch for Pokémon Day

Nintendo brings Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen versions to Nintendo Switch systems Feb. 27, marking the titles’ first return in more than 20 years. The digital-only releases revisit the Kanto region, where players can capture the original 151 Pokémon and encounter familiar characters while exploring classic turn-based gameplay. Based on the 2004 Game Boy Advance remakes, the games feature abilities, weather conditions, held items, and selectable player characters. Players can also connect locally with friends for multiplayer gameplay without the need for a Game Link Cable.

Fresh TV Taps Whirlygig Studios to Bring Total Drama Island to Roblox

Fresh TV has selected Whirlygig Studios to develop an official Total Drama Island experience for Roblox, marking the franchise’s expansion into interactive entertainment. Whirlygig will lead creative adaptation and technical development, delivering a recreated island environment inspired by the animated series, along with competitive tournaments, multiplayer social systems, avatar customization, and ongoing live-ops updates. Created by Tom McGillis and Jennifer Pertsch, Total Drama Island premiered in 2007 and has spanned 11 seasons, airing in more than 180 countries and 30 languages. The Roblox experience aims to translate the series’ humor and competition into a multiplayer-driven digital world.

Mattel Brings UNO to Roblox and Fortnite

Mattel Digital Studios is expanding the reach of UNO with two new interactive experiences on leading creator platforms. UNO: Bridge Clash, developed with Preloaded and available on Roblox, transforms the classic card game into a fast-paced team obstacle course featuring WILD power-ups and competitive gameplay. Meanwhile, UNO Royale, created with Look North World using Unreal Editor for Fortnite, brings strategic deck-building, tournament-style arenas, and collectible card skins to Fortnite. The launches reflect Mattel’s broader strategy to extend physical play into immersive digital worlds and meet fans where they game.
