Kroeger Canada, one of Canada’s longest-standing toy and game distributors, has been acquired by Genco International LLC and is relaunching as Kroeger Marketing. The acquisition marks a new chapter for the company, now under the leadership of Rubin and Michelle Beige, executives of the Rubie’s Costume legacy, and COO Grant Chapman.
“It is with great excitement that Genco International welcomes the Kroeger portfolio into our family,” says Rubin Beige, Co-CEO. “We see tremendous opportunity for expansion, while continuing the legacy of a company we’ve long respected.”
Based in Toronto, Kroeger Marketing will maintain its 55,000-square-foot warehouse while continuing to support national retailers like Walmart, Indigo, and Canadian Tire. The company will expand its footprint across North America and enter new categories, including arts and crafts, lifestyle products, and seasonal accessories.
“Even in a challenging economic climate, our focus remains on delivering unsurpassed value through mitigating tariff impacts, offering domestic inventory, and supporting our customers with expert service and channel-differentiated products,” says Chapman. We’re open for business and actively seeking new partnerships and representation opportunities.”
While the original Kroeger Canada entity has closed, the spirit of the company, known for its service-first approach and strong retail partnerships, will live on in its new form.
Kroeger Marketing’s business model centers around exclusive and semi-exclusive distribution of top-tier brands, strategic e-commerce growth via Amazon and extended aisle programs, and category expansion across construction, games, and seasonal products.
The leadership team, seasoned in both toy and costume industries, is focused on customer-first strategies, domestic inventory availability, and growing the company’s reach through new partnerships and representation opportunities.
