The LEGO Group recently revealed plans to expand its digital office in Copenhagen, Denmark, just a little more than a year after its opening. The company will also be seeing to the expansion of its Nyíregyháza, Hungary factory to meet the high demand for products.

Building awesome LEGO experiences requires us to continuously recruit talented new colleagues but digital talent is limited and highly sought after. The central location in Copenhagen has proven to be great for attracting the local and international top-tier talent we set out to welcome in Copenhagen.
Atul Bhardwaj, Chief Digital & Technology Officer at The LEGO Group

The company will add an additional floor to the Central Copenhagen building, making room for recruiting more team members. The LEGO Group hopes to triple the size of its digital team by the end of the year, for a total of around 1,800 digital team members across four locations in Billund, Copenhagen, London, and Shanghai.

Copenhagen isn’t the only place where The LEGO Group is broadening its reach. The company’s factory in Nyíregyháza will be expanding to increase manufacturing capacity.

The plan includes additional packaging modules, warehousing areas, and more, which will increase the facility’s packaging capacity by nearly 30%. Work on the factory is expected to begin this year and finish in 2025. The Nyíregyháza factory expansion is part of LEGO’s larger sustainability plans, with a solar plant installed at the site in 2021.

The LEGO Group is actively recruiting software engineers, digital product managers, and more. It also plans to hire 300 additional team members over the course of the Nyíregyháza factory’s expansion.
