The company behind Magic Mixies, Heroes of Goo Jit Zu, and Shopkins is looking to accelerate its growth.

Moose Toys launched a global mergers and acquisitions (M&A) team led by Giles Musker, the company’s Global Head of Business Development.

In a statement, Moose says that the M&A team is “tasked with aggressive portfolio expansion across games, collectibles, and traditional toy categories.” Musker will take meetings at Spielwarenmesse in Nuremberg, Germany from Feb. 1-5.

“The tremendous success of our Worlds Apart acquisition proved the opportunity to diversify and expand our portfolio,” Musker says. “We are actively seeking acquisitions and investment and strategic partnership opportunities that will enhance our strength in existing categories and offer the ability to enter — and disrupt — new categories.”

Over the past few years, Moose Toys has expanded through a mix of owned intellectual properties (IP), games, and licensing partnerships. Now. the company says that beyond acquiring brands and third-party IP, it will explore making equity investments in emerging companies to help scale them by tapping into the Moose team’s global expertise.
