The Nacelle Company is saddling up for Comic-Con International: San Diego (SDCC) with a major revival: Wild West C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa will return with an all-new animated series, toy line, and comic book prequel, launching the next chapter of the brand’s legacy within the expanding NacelleVerse.

Originally introduced in 1991 by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles artist Ryan Brown, Moo Mesa became a Saturday morning staple with a toy line, ABC cartoon, and arcade game. Now, more than 30 years later, Marshal Moo Montana and his posse are coming back in an interconnected universe that also includes RoboForce and Biker Mice from Mars.

The new eight-episode animated series is in development and slated for 2027. It will bring updated designs, serialized storytelling, and a contemporary edge to the high-plains action. It will reintroduce longtime favorites like Cowlorado Kid, Cowlamity Kate, and Sheriff Terrorbull while laying the groundwork for a fresh generation of fans.

Ahead of the premiere, Nacelle and Oni Press will release C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa: Origins, a four-issue comic miniseries debuting in September. The story serves as a direct prequel to the series and expands the mythology behind the mysterious “cow-met” event that sparked the law cows’ transformation.

Nacelle will showcase early concept art, comic previews, and collector-grade action figures of Moo Montana, Cowlamity Kate, and Terrorbull, all featuring 23 points of articulation and detailed accessories. Prototypes will be on display; preorders are now open.

“C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa is a timeless property that has stuck with fans for over 30 years,” says Brian Volk-Weiss, Founder and CEO of The Nacelle Company. “This relaunch is everything we love — imaginative, nostalgic, and full of heart — and it’s a key piece of what we’re building with the NacelleVerse.”

Nacelle is also in talks with top-tier talent to join the Moo Mesa voice cast, following its high-profile partnerships with Dwayne Johnson (RoboForce) and Ryan Reynolds (Biker Mice from Mars).

With animation, publishing, and toys all in motion, the return of Wild West C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa is poised to be a cornerstone of Nacelle’s strategy to reimagine nostalgic IP through interconnected storytelling and premium collectibles.
