November spending across video game hardware, software, accessories, and game cards totaled $2.7 billion, flat when compared to the same time last year, according to the NPD Group.
Gains in hardware, accessories, and game cards spending were offset by a decline in software sales due to Call of Duty‘s release shift to October.
Year-to-date spending across all categories, $13.2 billion, grew 16 percent when compared to last year. This is the highest year-to-date total since the $13.9 billion total from January to November 2010.
For the first time ever, three console platforms sold more than 1 million units in November: the Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, and Xbox One each sold more than 1.3 million units.
The top 10 games for November across all platforms, ranked by dollar sales, were Red Dead Redemption II, Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII, Battlefield V, Fallout 76, Pokemon: Lets Go Pikachu, Pokemon: Lets Go Eevee, NBA 2K19, Madden NFL 19, Spyro Reignited Trilogy, and FIFA 19.
