Preshow Noël Toys & Games is launching Fan Zone, a new event that will take place during Preshow Noël from Nov. 18-22 on the seventh floor of Hôtel Barrière Le Royal in Deauville, France.
Fan Zone is a professional event dedicated to showcasing entertainment products that appeal to kidults, collectors, and fans. Fan Zone aims to meet the needs of professionals working in the pop culture, kidult, geek, fan, licensing, and collection sectors who are looking for trends and new products for that audience.
According to a January 2024 Circana report, purchases by kidults are a main growth driver for the toys and games sector. There was an increase of 7% in 2023, or 75 million euros in additional turnover, which accounts for 28% of its activity in 2023.
Fan Zone is an opportunity for suppliers that specialize in those areas to present their flagship products and latest releases to a targeted audience of purchasers from general and specialist retail sectors. Fan Zone exhibitors will benefit from nearly 130 retail chains and retailers at the Preshow.
“In its 380 shops, King Jouet covers the main needs of this population in a dedicated area, clearly signposted and identified as such, called ‘King’Dults,’ complemented on the online sales site by an extended range,” says Thierry Le Lan, Purchasing Manager at King Jouet, which distributes games and toys across several brands. “The brand also publishes a 40-page catalog dedicated to kidults, containing 200 products and relayed by a funny and offbeat short-format web series on the adventures of a family of King’Dults, broadcast on the brand’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.”
The Fan Zone trade fair is based on a concept utilized at Preshow Noël, where there are one-to-one meetings in rooms that transform into private showrooms for the collection. The exhibitors at Preshow Noël Toys & Games offering kidult products will also be part of one-to-one meetings.
Distributors and suppliers will be housed in the same hotels, so there are numerous opportunities to socialize and network during cocktails, lunches, coffee breaks, and more. Around 1,800 professionals will be in Deauville for a week for the Preshow Noël and Fan Zone.
