Nintendo Packs Switch 2 Lineup with Major Franchise Returns

Nintendo announces a mix of new games, remasters, and franchise revivals for Nintendo Switch 2, led by the announcement of a reimagined The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, alongside Kingdom Hearts IV, Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, The Duskbloods, and Xenoblade Genesis. Nintendo also announces updates for Pokémon Pokopia, a new Fire Emblem entry, and additional content for Donkey Kong Bananza.

Nintendo showcases a broad lineup of upcoming titles, including Star Fox, Splatoon Raiders, Rhythm Heaven Groove, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World, Metaphor: ReFantazio, One Piece: Grand Gourmet, Hello Kitty Party Land, and RuneScape: Dragonwilds. Several third-party releases and enhanced Nintendo Switch 2 editions were announced, along with release dates, demos, and preorder details.Beyond game announcements, Nintendo reveals a limited-time Donkey Kong challenge event, new DLC plans for Pokémon Pokopia, and upgraded versions of the Xenoblade Chronicles trilogy. The presentation underscored Nintendo’s strategy of balancing first-party sequels, classic revivals, and major third-party support as the Switch 2 library continues to expand.

‘Crazy Taxi: World Tour’ Takes Axel on a Global Adventure in 2027

SEGA revealed Crazy Taxi: World Tour during the Xbox Games Showcase 2026, marking the return of the arcade driving franchise under the direction of original creator Kenji Kanno. 

Launching in 2027, the game will bring longtime protagonist Axel back behind the wheel for a story-driven campaign that sends him around the world after mysterious masked thieves steal his beloved taxi.

Players will race through five cities, tackle new missions, compete in multiplayer modes, and unlock vehicles and customization options. The game will also feature a Classic Mode that revisits the arcade-style gameplay that made the original series a fan favorite.

Masters of the Universe: Legends Unite’ Launches on Amazon Luna Alongside Film Debut

Mattel and Amazon have launched Masters of the Universe: Legends Unite exclusively on Amazon Luna, timed to coincide with the theatrical release of the live-action Masters of the Universe film from Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Studios. Free for Prime members, the game combines strategic deck building, couch co-op gameplay, and phone-based controls that let players cast cards directly to the TV.

Players can choose from six characters, including He-Man, Teela, Skeletor, Evil-Lyn, and Man-At-Arms, as they battle Hordak and his forces in cooperative Adventure Mode. The game also features Trials of Eternia, a series of competitive arcade-style mini-games that reward players with bonuses and rare items.

Designed as part of Amazon Luna’s GameNight collection, the title requires no console or controller and is available now in multiple countries across North America and Europe.

‘Star Trek: Shadow Frontier’ Brings Psychological Horror to the Final Frontier

Paramount Games Studio and Bloober Team unveiled Star Trek: Shadow Frontier, a new psychological horror title coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2027. The game stars Ro Laren, voiced once again by Michelle Forbes, as the former Starfleet officer investigates a distress call and crash-lands on a mysterious planet littered with the wreckage of countless starships.

The announcement follows the launch of Paramount Games Studio, which now unifies the company’s gaming efforts under a single banner. Star Trek: Shadow Frontier is scheduled for release in 2027 and can be wishlisted on Steam.

FIFA Brings FIFA World Cup 2026 to Roblox With Platform-Wide Event

FIFA and Gamefam are launching what they describe as Roblox’s biggest sports event to date, bringing the FIFA World Cup 2026 to FIFA Super Soccer and five additional Roblox experiences. Running through July 31, the activation transforms FIFA Super Soccer into a World Cup hub featuring all 48 participating national teams, a themed stadium, tournament quests, exclusive rewards, and real-time score and standings updates tied to the real-world competition.

The event extends beyond FIFA Super Soccer through a six-game crossover designed to reach different Roblox audiences, including simulation, racing, and roleplay experiences. Players can complete connected quests across participating games to unlock tournament-themed digital items inspired by national teams and World Cup moments.

The activation builds on FIFA Super Soccer’s growing presence on Roblox, where the official FIFA experience has surpassed 1.1 billion visits. FIFA and Gamefam say the event is designed to give Generation Z and Alpha fans new ways to engage with the tournament before, during, and after the matches.
