Purpose Toys is expanding its offerings of fashion dolls with diversity and inclusion in mind. The new Latinistas line of dolls will be the first all-Latina fashion doll line to be sold to the larger market. The new line of dolls joins the launch of Purpose Toys’ Latin division.
Four dolls will be included in the initial line-up: Lola, Liv, Julianna, and Dani. The dolls feature a variety of skin tones, eye colors, hair colors, hair textures, and backgrounds. Purpose Toys is also committed to ensuring the dolls are authentic to the cultures they represent.
The company has brought Jovanna Rosado in to lead the new Purpose Toys Latin division. Rosado has previous experience working with Mattel and other companies in roles focused on media, entertainment, and marketing. “I am beyond honored to be part of this historic moment for our community,” she says. “Our goal through Purpose Toys Latin is to unite, empower, and celebrate our community through play. This is only the beginning!”
Previous Purpose Toys doll lines include the Naturalistas, an all-Black line of dolls highlighting natural hair, and the HBCyoU dolls celebrating Historically Black Colleges. The new Latinistas line is expected to be available at Walmart, Target, and Amazon this August.
