The three dolls, part of the original six, are Kirsten, Addy, and Josefina. They will be sold in their original costumes and in the original Pleasant Co. packaging, which reads “The American Girls Collection.” Each will include a retro paperback book with some refreshes to the storylines and verbiage. Mattel has also re-released birthday outfits for each doll as well as corresponding Happy Birthday! paperbacks.

Kristen, Addy, and Josefina were among the first American Girl dolls created, originally released in 1986, 1993, and 1997, respectively. Addy is a young girl who has escaped slavery during the Civil War, Kirsten is a Swedish immigrant who helps out on her family farmstead, and Josefina lives in New Mexico before it became a part of the U.S.

The dolls were previously reissued, along with the other three original dolls, in 2021.

The company also released a new collection of outfits and accessories for its 1970s historical American Girl doll, Julie Albright.

The historical American Girl dolls are available for $150 each in-store and online at the American Girl website.
