This Sunday, Skylanders SuperChargers, from Activision Publishing Inc., will arrive at North American retailers. The new game features Turbo Charge Donkey Kong and Hammer Slam Bowser, two of Nintendo’s iconic characters, re-imagined as Skylanders for Wii U system starter packs, as well as in Skylanders SuperChargers Racing Starter Packs for the Nintendo Wii and 3DS systems.
Developed by Vicarious Visions, Skylanders SuperChargers introduces land, sea, and sky vehicles that are playable in both the physical and digital worlds. The game features new heroes with their own distinct moves, attacks, and weapons, as well as vehicles with special in-game abilities.
The Skylanders SuperChargers Starter Pack will include two Skylanders characters, a Skylanders vehicle, a newly designed Portal of Power, and the full game. Fans can also look for the Skylanders SuperChargers Dark Edition Starter Packs featuring Dark Spitfire, Dark Hot Streak, and the Kaos Trophy, which unlocks special gameplay content. There will also be Wii Dark Edition Starter Packs with Dark versions of Turbo Charge Donkey Kong and his vehicle, Barrel Blaster; and Dark Hammer Slam Bowser and his vehicle, Dark Clown Cruiser.
Activision will also introduce Skylanders SuperChargers Racing, a complementary racing experience featuring Donkey Kong and Bowser, who along with their specially created vehicles will be available exclusively in Skylanders SuperChargers and Skylanders SuperChargers Racing Starter Packs for Nintendo platforms. By twisting the character’s base, the SuperCharged Donkey Kong and Bowser also work with select amiibo-compatible Nintendo games.
Players will also be able to purchase Racing Action Packs that unlock additional content. A total of three Racing Action Packs will be available, and each one includes a SuperCharger, a vehicle, and a villain trophy that unlocks two exclusive racing tracks for the game. The first of the three packs, the Skylanders SuperChargers Sea Racing Action Pack, will be available at launch.
Skylanders SuperChargers will be available for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, and Nintendo’s Wii U systems. On October 25, the game will also be available on select iOS devices including the iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch. Skylanders SuperChargers will also be available on Apple TV this fall.
