Spielwarenmesse has revealed the winners of the 2026 ToyAward, honoring six standout products recognized for innovation, quality, and market potential during the second day of the international toy trade fair in Nuremberg. The awards span six categories, highlighting excellence across age groups and play patterns, from baby and infant products to games for teenagers and adults.
An international jury of twelve experts from retail, manufacturing, market research, toy safety, and sustainability selected the winners. Entries were evaluated based on play value, safety, originality, workmanship, clarity of concept, and retail potential.
In the Baby & Infant category, Tonies took top honors with My First Tonies, featuring soft, easy-to-grasp figures designed to introduce toddlers to age-appropriate audio storytelling and sensory play. The jury cited the product’s combination of storytelling and developmental stimulation.
The PreSchool award went to Der Berg ruft from Auzou jeux, distributed by Hutter Trade. The game introduces young children to climbing-themed gameplay, challenging players to estimate rope lengths and manage team members while developing coordination and early strategy skills.
Franckh-Kosmos claimed the SchoolKids category with Temple Twist, a cooperative game centered around a rotating temple structure that transforms into a three-dimensional labyrinth. Judges praised the title for its innovative mechanics and high production quality.
In the Teenager & Adults category, iDventure earned recognition for CluePuzzle — The Wonderbox of Alice, which blends escape-room style riddles with a wooden 3D puzzle box featuring more than 180 pieces, integrated locks, and moving components.
The Startup category winner was Beaver Edu SAL for its Beaver Edu Construction Kit. Designed to encourage hands-on engineering and creativity, the kit allows children to build from real wood sticks using plug-in joints and a patented, child-safe cutting tool.
Waytoplay Toys received the Sustainability award for Arches, a modular building system made from recycled plastic in Europe. Featuring curved components and a simple click system, the product supports open-ended construction while emphasizing durability and environmentally responsible manufacturing.
The ToyAward winners were formally recognized during Spielwarenmesse’s 75th anniversary year, underscoring the fair’s ongoing role in spotlighting innovation and forward-thinking design within the global toy industry.
