Ninjas are usually quiet and operate in the shadows, but the Spy Ninjas are making noise.

The YouTube franchise, which currently maintains partnerships with Playmates Toys, Scholastic, and others, tapped Jason James to serve as its president and chief operating officer.

James, a former executive at The Walt Disney Co. and DC Entertainment, joins Spy Ninjas from GoNoodle, where he most recently served as senior vice president and general manager.

“Spy Ninjas had already set a high bar with their YouTube success and various partnerships they’d smartly put into place,” James says. “My job now is to turn this flywheel and help it grow into a multimedia entertainment experience for the 21st century.”

With the move, Spy Ninjas co-founders Vy Qwaint and Chad Wild Clay assume additional roles as CEO and chief creative officer, respectively.

Spy Ninjas boasts more than 44 million subscribers that tune in regularly for fresh content and adventures. While Clay and Qwaint are known to employ the Tornado Kick, Backpack Attack, and Double Kick, James’ preferred ninja move has not yet been revealed.
