Mobile game developer SYBO, the studio behind Subway Surfers, is partnering with Miniclip, the game studio behind 8 Ball Pool, for an in-game event for both titles.

In Subway Surfers, players will have the opportunity to explore an 8 Ball Pool City Tour with locations inspired by real-world cities like Las Vegas, Sydney, and Tokyo. Players collect 8 Ball tokens to progress through each location and unlock event-exclusive content, like a new cosmetic item and hoverboard inspired by 8 Ball Pool. This portion of the event runs from Aug. 18 through Sept. 3.

In 8 Ball Pool, players have access to a Subway Surfers-style experience based on the locations featured in the previous event. A special pool table will have similar gameplay mechanics to Subway Surfers. During the event, there are various limited-edition quests for players to complete, earning prizes like an avatar of Subway Surfers’ Jake and a Guard-inspired cue. This portion of the event will run from Aug. 27 through Sept. 17.

Mathias Gredal Nørvig, CEO of SYBO, shares his thoughts on the crossover: “Since we joined the Miniclip family back in 2022, we’ve been eager to collaborate with the other fan-favorite mobile titles under their umbrella. 8 Ball Pool has led the pool game category for nearly two decades, and we’re thrilled to finally bring its first crossover with Subway Surfers to our collective audiences.”

Saad Choudri, CEO of Miniclip, adds: “Subway Surfers and 8 Ball Pool are two of the most successful, beloved, and longest-running titles in the Miniclip portfolio. Both games have proven a unique ability to last the test of time — engaging millions of players around the world for decades. We’re looking forward to bringing the two titles’ worlds together for the very first time.”

Both games are free to download for both iOS and Android on platforms like the App Store and Google Play. To find out more about the event, visit sybo.com and miniclip.com/games/8-ball-pool.
