    Polly Pocket is getting a second season. DHX Media and Mattel greenlit a new 26-episode order for the animated series based on Mattel’s original micro-scale doll brand. The series is produced at DHX’s Vancouver studio with Shea Fontana (DC Super Hero Girls, Doc McStuffins) serving as story editor.     DHX Media brings Dorg Van Dango to Nickelodeon International this year, having signed a new exclusive agreement with the global kids’ broadcaster. Dorg Van Dango is a Canada-Ireland co-production from DHX Media and Cartoon Saloon, in association with Family Channel in Canada and RTE in Ireland. Production on the series’ first run of 52 11-minute episodes is underway at DHX Media‘s Vancouver studio.     Playmobil appointed WildBrain to exclusively manage its YouTube content. During the two year agreement, WildBrain will manage an exclusive library of 15 short animated videos featuring Playmobil figures. The new videos will span several diverse Playmobil themes, and will be available on the WildBrain network on YouTube and the YouTube Kids app in multiple languages, including German, English, Spanish and Portuguese, with more planned.     DHX Media appointed Lara Ilie as vice president of rights strategy, reporting to Anne Loi, chief commercial officer. Additionally, Rachel Taylor will join DHX Media’s wholly-owned subsidiary, WildBrain, as commercial director, reporting to Jon Gisby, managing director. In her newly created position, Ilie will develop and implement integrated strategies to monetize the company’s portfolio of intellectual property rights across business units and territories. Working with the senior management team, she is responsible for formulating strategies to grow revenue from the company’s portfolio of kids and family brands.     DHX Media and Mattel‘s new animated children’s series, Polly Pocket, was picked up by 16 broadcasters internationally. Based on the Mattel toy brand, the series follows Polly and her friends as they go on adventures in a shrunken size, thanks to Polly’s magic locket. Polly Pocket premiered in Canada in July, on DHX Media’s Family Channel and Family Jr, and will roll out globally throughout late 2018 and into 2019.     DHX Media and Dentsu Entertainment U.S.A.‘s animated series Mega Man: Fully Charged was picked up for linear broadcast and video-on-demand streaming by POP on their channels and services in the UK, the Republic of Ireland, the Isle of Man, Malta, and Iceland. Mega Man: Fully Charged debuted on the POP app, available to all PlayStation 4 console owners, and will launch it on the linear channel in early 2019.     DHX Media signed a new agreement providing Prime Video’s U.S. streaming service with Spanish versions of 10 children’s series. The new content is expected to launch for U.S. Prime Video members on October 4. The 10 included shows are Bob the Builder (season two), Bob the Builder: Mega Machines (movie), Fireman Sam, (season sevent), Strawberry Shortcake: Sky’s the Limit (movie), Sonic the Hedgehog (season one), Super Mario World (season one), Busy World of Richard Scarry (season five), Madeline, (season one), Paddington’s Birthday Bonanza (special), and Sabrina, the Animated Series (season two).

    DHX Media closed its previously announced sale of a minority stake in Peanuts to Sony Music Entertainment Inc. (SMEJ). SMEJ has indirectly purchased 49 percent of DHX Media’s 80 percent interest in Peanuts for $235.6 million in cash, subject to certain adjustments contemplated in the original agreement. DHX Media now owns 41 percent of Peanuts, SMEJ owns 39 percent, and the members of the family of Charles M. Schulz retain their 20 percent interest.     DHX Media will premiere its new animated series Mega Man: Fully Charged, an original co-production with Dentsu Entertainment USA Inc. The series is based on the Capcom Mega Man video game franchise. Beginning Aug. 5, the show will air every Sunday on Cartoon Network in the U.S, and will make its Canadian debut on DHX Television’s Family Channel in the fall.     Dentsu Entertainment USA Inc. and DHX Media Ltd. struck a deal to develop, co-produce, and distribute and jointly manage licensing for a new Mega Man animated series based on the Capcom Mega Man video game franchise. Under the terms of the deal, Dentsu Entertainment USA and DHX will manage all gloval rights for the new Mega Man animated series.
