The Angry Birds Movie Enters Comprehensive Licensing Program

The comprehensive licensing program has been announced The Angry Birds Movie, based on the mobile game that has been downloaded more than 3 billion times since 2009.

Toy licensees include The Lego Group with a line of six construction sets; Spin Master with a line of action figures, vehicles, and play sets; Hasbro for games; Amscan for party goods; and Commonwealth Toy & Novelty for plush in the U.S.

The book-publishing program for The Angry Birds Movie launched with HarperCollins in the U.S. and Centum Books in Great Britain, Australia, and New Zealand, and parts of the U.S. IDW is publishing comics for films in English worldwide, with National Geographic on board.

The animated 3D comedy will open in theaters on May 20.
