Following a two-year, digital detour to become “Sweet Suite @ Home,” the Toy Insider‘s Sweet Suite event returned to its original, live format last week.
The legendary toy party thrown by the Toy Insider (like the Toy Book, published by Adventure Media & Events) welcomed top-tier press, media personalities, and digital influencers — including Instagram stars, TikTokers, and YouTube creators — for an epic night of play on July 13 at Pier Sixty in New York City.
More than 60 exhibitors, spanning top toy and game makers and emerging stars, were on hand to preview some of the hottest new toys for summer, fall, and the upcoming holiday shopping season. Upon entry, guests were welcomed to Sweet Suite by Toy Soldier Johnny from FAO Schwarz, a Jurassic Park Jeep courtesy of ToyMonster International, and a massive L.O.L. Surprise! Mini Sweets photo op provided by MGA Entertainment.
Inside, attendees let their inner kid run wild while checking out the latest from companies including Crayola, Funko Games, Hasbro, Jakks Pacific, Jazwares, Just Play, LeapFrog, LEGO, Mattel, Moose Toys, Nintendo, Spin Master, The Pokémon Co., VTech, WowWee, and dozens more.
The night played host to the official debut of hot new products, including Karma’s World (Mattel), Big Fat Yarn (Jazwares), Snorble (Snorble), Super Mario’s Let’s Go, Yoshi! (Jakks Pacific), My Avastars (WowWee), the Addison Rae collection (Bonkers Toys), Disney Kingdomania (Funko Games), Art Squad (Just Play), Rock the Bells dolls (World of EPI), and more.
While nearly 400 attendees joined the party at Sweet Suite, another 244 joined the fun on July 14 for Sweet Suite Virtual Day, extending the party to those who couldn’t attend. And, a total of 43 media and influencers experienced twice the fun by attending Sweet Suite in person and logging on for Virtual Day!
At the end of the night, attendees picked up sweet treats from a waiting donut truck while representatives from The Toy Foundation were on hand to collect toys and games from exhibiting sponsors to be distributed to deserving kids throughout the local area.
With live events back in full swing, Adventure Media & Events’ Toy Insider team will host its annual Holiday of Play event in New York City on Sept. 16, 2022. During this special event, select members of the media will be the first to see the Toy Insider’s hot holiday toy picks, as well as meet with top manufacturers before the holiday season.
Then, the fun will continue in March of 2023 as Adventure Media & Events teams up with The Toy Association for an all-new “play date.”
